The Script Has Ended & Life Has Begun 07/21/2011
Featured Guest Blogger: Allison Plegge I've chosen to share the words of my cousin Allison w/ you because she truly stole the words right out of my mouth in regards the our experience at Vitality in Florida this past weekend. Enjoy! The script has ended and life has begun by Allison Plegge “The moment you stop doing what you think you’re supposed to do, and start doing what you were really meant to do, is when the script ends and life begins...” – Blake Mallen. I find myself speechless and thank God everyday that I was provided the opportunity with Visalus and the amount of personal growth I have been through in the past two and ½ months since making the decision to take control of my life and live out my dreams. Every.Single.Person deserves to live the life they have always dreamed of and find complete happiness. I only wish that all of you would be able to see what I have seen this past weekend. There are a few things that really stuck out to me. However, there is also much more. The more I surround myself with the people in visalus, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I've found my home, my passion and purpose to lead me into even bigger dreams of helping other people and fighting the obesity epidemic. There is nothing more powerful than having over 5,000 individuals in the same room that have the same mindset to make a difference in this world. Ambassadors, Kerri and Shane of Joplin Missouri, step up to the plate when the tornados devastated Joplin and serve meals *Vi Shakes* to their community that may very well have otherwise gone hungry. Within just 3 days of the disaster Visalus had sent, OVER NIGHT, 10,000 meals to Joplin to help Kerri and Shane in their mission to serve their community. They didn't have to help, but they did and I feel so privileged to know such selfless people. Then, the story of Anastasia. This young lady gave the ultimate gift of life to one of her Visalus team members. She gave her kidney to someone who may very well have had to endure dialysis indefinitely if it had not been for her. And the way that the founders of the company, Ryan Blair, Nick Sarnicola, and Blake Mallen reached out to them during that time and offered their love and support truly does speak volumes to the character and integrity of Visalus. The book that Ryan Blair, Visalus CEO wrote, NOTHING TO LOSE, EVERYTHING TO GAIN, is hitting bookstores 8.4.11. He is donating ALL proceeds to at-risk youth to help with education, afterschool programs, and anything those children might need to let them know that someone out there believes in them and their potential as rising stars in society. This weekend, I found out what Visalus is really about. It's about being service driven leaders. It's about paying it forward. It's about waging a war on sickness and disease, poverty and obesity. It's about picking up your neighbor when they're down and showing them the light at the end of the tunnel. I feel humbled and blessed to be a part of such an amazing company! I have heard people ask "if this Vi shake and Vi pak are so great, then why don't they bypass the distributors and just sell it on the shelves in Walmart or something? Every company is about making money. They would make so much more that way." I have an answer for that. It's because Visalus isn't about the money. Visalus is about creating good health, a life by design, and paying forward prosperity. Visalus is about giving back. It's about a family of like-minded individuals who want to help change the world. Visalus is changing network marketing FOREVER and to be a part of that is the most amazing feeling in the world. Like my father has always told me since I was a little girl, life’s golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” There will be nothing more fulfilling than going the places with all of you and experiencing those moments that we've always only dreamed of. Always remember, we are what repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. I have always been a driven, motivated individual. However, I feel more alive than I ever have, hopeful and blessed. I have made friendships with amazing people that I never would have even known otherwise. My life has forever changed and I am taking my team to the top with me!! I love you all and can’t wait till our next event in Atlanta, GA!! Add Comment Leadership 03/10/2010
Today I just want to share some one-liners about leadership. We all lead in one way or another, whether it be in our home & families, at work, others watching us as christians and/or role models, coaches, etc. I pray these challenge you to be a better leader and person of integrity... Authority does not make you a leader; it gives you the opportunity to be one. Leadership depends on the ability to make people want to follow Voluntarily. Learn self-control before attempting to control others.... Ouch lol. You cannot lead any farther than you have gone yourself. A good (boss/coach/spouse/servant leader/etc.) is someone who takes a little more than his share of the blame and a little less than his share of the credit... I could definately grown in this area, how about you? One is not qualified to give orders until he is capable of receiving orders. Action is the only true test of ability. Good leaders never set themselves above their followers- except in carrying out responsibilities. A Good leader inpires others with confidence within himself, a Great leader inspires them with confidence in themselves. People have a way of becoming what you encourage them to be & say they are- not what you nag them to be. It is easier to follow the leader than lead the followers. Make people feel they are working with you- not for you - and you will get far more out of them. To be prepared, be pre-prayered... LOVE!!! Please feel free to leave your quotes or comments on leadership, integrity, etc.!!!! | ArchivesDecember 2011 CategoriesAll |
